As a long-standing HR partner providing outsourced HR services to Vermtek, Robinson Grace HR Consultancy were approached to recruit for the key role of Service Desk Assistant through the Astute Recruit fixed-fee recruitment service.

Step 1 - Defining the role
We worked closely with Vermtek to refine the job description and person specification, ensuring the demands of the role and the skills and abilities required of applicants were accurately reflected. We also assisted in selecting a job title that aligned with both market expectations and online search trends to ensure the vacancy would appear in search results for jobseekers.

Step 2 - Targeted advertising
Using our knowledge of evolving hiring trends, we placed the job advertisement on platforms and websites proven to attract high-quality candidates for similar roles.

Step 3 - Screening and shortlisting
All applications were processed via an ATS, which allowed Vermtek’s hiring managers to view applications in real time. We applied the use of qualifying questions and a five-star rating system to highlight the candidates most satisfied the selection criteria, saving managers the time required to read and evaluate every application.

Step 4 - Interviews and trial shift
Using the list of candidates we shortlisted against the selection criteria, Vermtek selected candidates for us to arrange the face-to-face interviews with. After interviews took place, a standout applicant performed exceptionally during a trial shift and is now a valued team member thriving in the role.
